Week 3 & 4: Teamwork

This week , we have a design challenge which required us to do teamwork. I was in a team with Ezel ( Interior Architecture ). We were required to desgin a cafe in the park which is in infront of the Parkside building.

We took a walk outside to dicuss about the shape and the location of our project. Ezel shared many ideas while I did not have much idea, because I thought designing in this area was a bad idea and did not make sense. I saw a lot cafe nearby and designing a cafe in the park is totally destroying the environment and the mood of the area.

Because this is a small area which I could not do much about landscape, so I did more research which is going to make sense.

This is my mood board that I will make sure about the environment and the type of design is right to used.

This is my first design beofe doing the research. Oneside of the roof is higher which made a hill which prevent rainwater from accumulating on the roof to avoid moss growth.

I did a digital collage of the cafe which based on the materials I choose . This collage helps me to illusttrate the project easier in real-life.

Then I make like a 2D masterplan. Actually, it is not a masterplan but I made it to show the location of the trees will be added in park for the cafe.

This is my research board that include research about which type of roof and I should use, the suitable plant for England climate.

My final skecthes show 2 sides of the cafe which has 2 door for people to walk in and walk out. I add a base for the cafe because of the area is not flat and because it I do not add more trees inside. I choose the second design of stair is because I want disable people can also come in easily.
