Week 5 – Collage
This week, I was introduced and practiced with another types of art, Collage. I like the chaotic and random style in collages, so I made products that contain that style.

The product conveys the atmostphere and complex architecture of the building. I use small, squares pieces to create grid effect by cutting many squares from original photo. Cutting the squares into uniform sizes has made the arrangement of the cutouts easier and more organized.
I would experiment with breaking the rigid grid in some areas to create contrast, for example using other shapes (triangles, rectangles) or varying the size of the cutouts more randomly to create more of a sense of movement or chaos.

This product, I wanted to show the obsession and intense focus on eye details. The repetition and arrangement of eyes with different expressions and angles creates a tense, watched, and emotional atmosphere. With the text background, creating strong contrast between detailed image array and written texts. I organised the eyes randomly to make the chao of the product ( I cut many eyes details from different images and tear text parts from various magazines).
I would try to center the eyes and find certain phrases (related to negative visual obssession topic) to highlight.

I combined three contrasting natural and architectural elements: sea and rocky shore (bottom left), classic house (middle), and trees and torn street (top). I cut out the shape of the house, the remaining details I tore them out, to keep the image of the house intact among the chaos.
I would choose another classic house, which has hot colors or brighter colors to make the house more prominent.

I made the overall composition (although chaotic) still guides the viewer’s eye to move back and forth between the main skater images, creating a rhythm. After others which I created before was collages that involve chaotic landscapes or chaotic negative views. But this collages, I wanted to make an active and positive view among the chaos.
I would reduces detail on dark colored skaters to increase attention on brighter colored details.
Artist inspires me
- Havass and Hannibal

Hvass&Hannibal is a design studio based in Copenhagen, founded by designers Nan Na Hvass and Sofie Hannibal.
I have chosen Hvass & Hannibal, because their works give me a sense of life, although combining many elements together, they are not disjointed. they usually build realistic models, paint on wood, dye fabric, create 3D shapes by hand, then photograph and process them digitally.

- Vincent Vangogh

Vincent van Gogh is a great artist to study for his mastery of Texture, Contrast and Abstract. I have liked his paintings and artwork since I was a kid.

His work process centered around a technique known as Impasto. This method directly creates actual texture on the canvas surface, seen vividly in the swirling sky of The Starry Night . This heavy texture is not merely decorative. It acts as a powerful, chaotic language, conveying his intense energy.
I especially love his use of contrasting colors. Placing complementary colors (like vibrant Yellow and Blue) next to each other makes them vibrate and create intense emotions. Furthermore, his rough textures make each painting feel alive.
Van Gogh inspired the use of texture as a tool to express emotion, which I really like. His art did not need to be perfect in its depiction of reality, but rather had to be honest and intensely emotional.

When I was in high school, I and my friend also created a project that I used to try to paint in contrast like vangogh.

That was my idea about painting the backgroung as Vangogh’s style, and I also did that part.
