Week 5 – Analyzing edition of Video

The beginning of the MV “hop on da show” is the red lines of words  appearing one after another to the “tap” beat, along with the camera angle and light moving from left to right (from the supporting characters to the main character). Plus, dance MVs often use hard cuts on the beat to create synchronization with the choreography, highlighting the kicking dance like at 0:26 of the “hop on da show” MV, with transitions according to the beat and choreography. After that, the editing speed increases, constantly changing between wide shots, medium, and close-up angles to highlight the main dance move at 0:37. Next are the scenes that switch back and forth in the seconds before 0:57 according to the dancers’ movements. In particular, at 1:19, there is a scene where the dancer kicks at the beat and immediately switches to another scene, changing to another character’s verse. Next, there are still transitions cut on the beat according to the dancers’ choreography. At around 1:47, there are jump cuts that continuously maintain visual stimulation, quickly switching between members and formations. Finally, there is a jump cut at 2:21 that transitions to the ending scene, along with a slow zoom in and a shaky camera angle, creating a sense of excitement as if the viewer is joining the MV.

The transitions in this video are mostly between fight scenes. I used directional blur impact between scenes 1 and 2, then I used chaos impact for the transition from scene 2 to scene 3. Plus, ighting and sword fighting sounds are inserted along with the characters’ actions, and I added background music to increase the drama.
