Week 10: submission
Evaluation
This semester I have been developing and further understanding my academic and personal learning skills. During week 7 till the end of the semester, things seemed more difficult. I was struggling with a huge workload and cannot balance, but I saw improvement and growth in myself as I accomplished the goals which I had set to make my workflow more stable is time management. I asked suggestions from my peers, my tutors and higher level students to improve my workflow.
The process of my final outcome is a repeat of an experiment when I keep practicing and trying new solutions or sketches. The aim of the project is to solve the area’s problem by developing old and new technologies to maintain the connection of humans and the environment where they can live and support each other in many ways. In week 9 and 10, my main task is to complete the models and design sheets in a focus mood. This state shows me the importance of attention to detail and thematic consistency. While making models is difficult and consumes much time, but the most rewarding is seeing the complete final outcome has a cohesive story to approach people.
For academic development, I have increased my research skills in a more detailed and critical way. I am no longer just doing the research as a mandatory task. I enjoy doing the research when I can broaden my knowledge and fully understand the core of problems. This allows me to seriously evaluate existing precedents instead of simply imitating them. By identifying the principle of concepts, I can apply these strategies to my work in a flexible way while avoiding past mistakes. For my personal development, I discovered that my resilience is stronger than I thought, this helps me to keep pushing myself to do tasks. In parallel, time management allows me to distribute the tasks efficiently while I can maintain completing deadlines.
I particularly enjoy discussing ideas and getting feedback with my tutors and peers, this helps me find other aspects of problems and also improve my project. Plus, I realize that there is an increase in my professional confidence, by diving deeply into research I can move away from my uncertain thinking. But my primary struggle was with time management at the peak of the semester because I usually make tasks complicated for myself, this causes wasting time on unnecessary tasks. Moreover, because of realizing my strong resilience ability, I put a lot of pressure on myself. This ends up placing both my physical and mental health into an exhausted state. As a result, I can do my work as I planned or expected, causing a huge disappointment in myself.
I solved the problem of time management by discussing with my tutor, my friends and asking suggestions from higher level students. This helps me find the most suitable solution for myself for balancing my worklife. I not only asked for suggestions for my time management but also for my project. Then I combine these with research to solve the problems while experiencing and studying.
If I were to redo this semester, I would implement stricter planner tracking earlier in the process to avoid rushing at the peak of semester. The major takeaway lessons that I can bring with me in my degree are reflections, time management and staying positive. I think these factors can decide my succeed and development.
