Week 1 – Introduction
To introduce myself to the class, I draw a self portrait.
This is my self portrait, I draw it into anime style because I am inspired a lot by Japanese’s culture. I always wear headphones when I go out, so I drew it. I really like my eyes and the mole near my eye.
I picked out 10 ten words ( Landscape, cultural, overcoming challenges, recovering, perspective, traumatic, nostalgia, life stages, experience and overcoming obstacles) and thought what i actually think when I heard these words. I defined them by keywords and generated into drawings.
I chose drawing because with me it is the easiest way to convey what I really think about these words.
I chose the word “Traumatic” to show how I do it.
Traumatic: psychologically or emotionally stressful in a way that can lead to serious mental and emotional problems.
I think of: Trauma is when a person experiences a negative event that can cause phobias and lead to mental health problems.
I draw Violet Evergarden(not exactly look like her), an anime character in “Viotlet Evergarden”. She was raised as a tool of war, Violet does not understand human emotions and does not know how to reintegrate into society after the war ends. She also carries the pain of losing the only commander who treated her like a human being.
